Bowl For Kids' Sake

Kids at bowling alley

The 28th Annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake was a tremendous success and a special thanks goes out to all the family and friends who participated and volunteered their time to help.

More than 350 bowlers participated in the event, which was held on March 14 at King Pin Lanes in Rome and on March 21 at Pin-O-Rama in Utica, raising nearly $40,000 to benefit the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

A special thanks to our major sponsors Northern Safety Co. and Rome Strip Steel Co., Inc., the Hartford, Bank of New York Mellon for their continued support, the Uptown Theatre for hosting two movie presentations to benefit our cause, and to the hosts Pin-O-Rama and King Pin Lanes.

Proceeds from the event are changing the lives of special children in our community everyday - and by investing in them now, we are investing in their futures!

Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult volunteers with children primarily from single-parent homes. A Big Brother or Big Sister can have a major impact on a child's life and yet it's a truly simple process. It just takes some time, a love of life and a concern for children.
