The Tradewinds Education Center is located on the Eiddon and Alice Jones Armory Campus at Upstate Cerebral Palsy in Utica. Tradewinds is committed to providing students with a learning environment that will help each student reach their fullest potential. The site includes fifteen classrooms, support areas, meeting and staff rooms, a gymnasium and kitchen. Teachers, aides, counselors, therapists, nurses, administrators and other support personnel are all located within the Center. The school program is divided into four separate schools called clusters. Each cluster is designed to meet the unique needs of the students identified to be served. The clusters are as follows:

Developmental Needs
Life skills
Adaptive Needs
Vocational

The education, clinical, and residential staff develop and implement goals and objectives focusing on the overall growth and development of each student.

Related services for students include speech, occupational and physical therapies, psychiatric and psychological services, and counseling. Each student also receives instruction in art, physical education, music therapy, and occupational education.

A primary emphasis of the program is to reduce inappropriate or maladaptive behaviors through behavior management to assist students in learning effective coping skills.

The education program provides services for both day students that are transported from are school districts and residential students who live at the center year round.
