Upstate Cerebral Palsy is committed to helping families receive the programs and supports needed to care for their loved one. All programs at the agency incorporate a family support component as part of individualized programming that is customized to each program and specifically to each family’s needs.

Family support programs include:

Case Management: providing assistance for families to complete eligibility and enrollment for programs funded through the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Home Based Behavior Management: teaches strategies and techniques to help family members modify dangerous, aggressive or self-injurious behaviors by a developmentally delayed or brain injured child or relative.

Sibling Program: camp that addresses the needs of brothers and sisters of individuals with a disability through education and recreational activities.

Voucher Respite: relief provided to the care giver of an individual with a disability. This primary care and support is available on an hourly basis.

Support Groups: providing a full range of activities and resources to families. Current support groups include Autism Support Group, Promise Parents Support Group, and the Down Syndrome Support Group.

Family members are encouraged to contact their program director to learn more about what that program offers for support. However, for information on the above programs, contact the Community Services Division at (315) 738-0794 or e-mail dguernsey@upstatecerebralpalsy.org
